Features
Everything Hourcove does
Track time, turn approved hours into invoices and see which projects make money. Everything below is built and works today; a connection still in early access carries a tag.
What Hourcove does today
- One running timer per person, kept on the server so it survives reloads and other devices.
- Weekly timesheet submission and manager approval; approved weeks lock their time and expenses.
- Builds an invoice from a client's unbilled billable time and expenses and marks those entries billed in the same step, so nothing is invoiced twice.
- Billable rates per person, task or project and cost rates per person, with a history; each time entry keeps the rates in force on its day.
- Project margins, budget burn and utilization against weekly capacity, with CSV export of every report.
- Moves Harvest history (early access) with a discovery report, dry run, review and reconciliation; a blocking difference stops the move from completing.
- Sends only read requests to Harvest, and work billed in Harvest stays billed in Hourcove.
- Keeps hours and money as exact decimals; imported rates and amounts are copied exactly or flagged, never rounded.
Time tracking
- Timers on every page; one running per person, kept on the server so it survives reloads and other devices
- Day and week views, with a weekly grid you can type straight into

- Weekly submission and manager approval; approved weeks lock
Projects, rates and budgets
- Clients, projects and tasks, with project status: active, on hold, completed or archived
- Billable rates per person, per task or per project, and cost rates per person
- Rate history with effective dates: a new rate never silently reprices past work
- Budgets in hours or money, optionally monthly, or per task or person; fixed-fee projects
Invoices
- Built from approved, unbilled billable time and expenses for a client and period
- Lines by project, task or person, or every entry; two tax rates and a discount
- Your own numbering, a PDF, and email with a link to view it online
- Hours on an invoice are marked billed, so they can't be invoiced twice
Expenses and profitability
- Expenses with a photo or PDF of the receipt, billable or not
- Project margins at bill rates or from what you actually invoiced, against cost at cost rates plus expenses
- Budget burn and per-person utilisation
- Reports by client, project, person, task and month, with CSV export
